What to Expect at Your Intake Appointment

Welcome & Registration (15-20 min)

You’ll be greeted by our front desk staff who will help you complete paperwork, verify your ID, and collect insurance information. Everything is confidential.

Financial/Insurance Review (10-15 min)

We verify your insurance coverage and explain any costs. If you’re uninsured, we’ll discuss self-pay options and help you apply for Medicaid if eligible.

Psychosocial Assessment (30-45 min)

A counselor will meet with you privately to understand your substance use history, medical history, mental health, social situation, and treatment goals.

Medical Evaluation (30-45 min)

Our physician will perform a medical assessment, review your history, conduct a physical exam, and determine the appropriate medication and dose.

Treatment Planning (15-20 min)

Together with your treatment team, you’ll create a personalized treatment plan including medication, counseling schedule, and recovery goals.

First Dose / Prescription (varies)

For methadone: You’ll receive your first observed dose. For Suboxone: Depending on your last opioid use, you may receive your first dose or a prescription to fill.

We treat patients with complex medical histories, including those with HIV, hepatitis C, diabetes, chronic pain, and mental health conditions. Bring a list of all medications—we’ll coordinate with your other providers as needed.
